President Muhammadu Buhari has approved appointments to the executive management of some government agencies and parastatals such as NTA, NEMA, and FRCN.
According to the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, the Vice President of Nigeria, Prof Yemi Osinbajo (SAN) has been appointed as the Chairman of the National Emergency Management Agency, NEMA while Engr. Mustapha Yunusa Maihaja is the new Director-General.
The members of the NEMA Board are the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Engr. David Babachir Lawal, Captain Talba Alkali, representing Ministry of Transport and Aviation and Amb. Rabiu Dagari, Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Others are, Dr. Ngozi Azadoh, Ministry of Health, Engr. Ajisegiri Benson Akinloye; Ministry of Water Resources, AIG Salisu Fagge Abdullahi, Nigerian Police Force, Alhaji Muhammadu Maccido, Ministry of Interior, and AVM Emmanuel Anebi; Nigerian Armed Forces.
President Muhammadu Buhari has also approved the appointment of the executive management of the Nigeria Television Authority (NTA), with a former newspaper editor and ex-presidential spokesman, Chief Duro Onabule as Chairman of the Board.
Other executive directors of the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) include Dr. Steve Egbo, Administration, and Training; Stephen Okoanachi, Engineering; Mohammed Labbo, News; Abdul Hamid Salihu Dembos, Marketing; and Wole Coker, Programmes, and Fatima M. Barda, Finance.
Femi Adesina also announced the appointment of executives at the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN). According to him, Aliyu Hayatu is the new chairman, while Yinka Amosun and Buhari Auwalu, are Zonal Directors, Lagos, and Kaduna, respectively.
Other appointees under the Ministry of Information and Culture are, Dr Chika Maduekwe, General Manager of Nigerian Film Corporation, Comrade Tar Ukoh, Artistic Director of National Theatre and National Troupe of Nigeria, Folorunsho Coker, Director-General of National Film and Video Censors Board, and Otunba Olusegun Runsewe, Director-General of National Council for Arts and Culture.
