The Lagos State police on Tuesday, demolished the Badoo Cult Shrine In Imosan Village, leading to the arrest of the alleged leader, Fatai Adebayo, who doubles as the chief herbalist.
The shrine was uncovered during an operation carried out by the Lagos state police command, the Lagos State task force, as well as the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS),
According to Vanguard, the shrine is located at Number 38, Ayegbami Quarters in Imosan village.
Leading the operation was Edgal Imohimi, the Lagos State Commisioner of Police. According to the commissioner, the kingpin of the notorious group known as Badoo was arrested while trying to escape.
He added that all other suspects are in custody and according to one of the suspects, they all go to the shrine before embarking on an operation and use a piece of stone to take an oath.
This claim was refuted by the 34-year-old Fatai who admitted to owning the shrine but said the stone found in the shrine is used for grinding pepper.
His mother who was also at the scene said his son is not a ritual killer but a traditional healer.
In 2017, residents of Lagos were told to be really cautious and security conscious as members of the Badoo cult group were on the prowl.
