According to the Forbes 2017 Billionaires List which was published on Monday, President Donald Trump has dropped 220 spots on the Forbes’ ranking to become the 544th richest person in the world with 19 others in the same position.
The magazine put his net worth at $3.5 billion. According to Forbes, the decline in the POTUS net worth is due to softness in the midtown Manhattan real estate market.
In 2015, his net worth was $4.5 billion, and he was ranked as the 121st on The Forbes 400 list of the wealthiest people in America, appearing alongside Wal-Mart heiress Ann Walton Kroenke, ahead of Sheldon Solow and Jim Davis.
In October 2016, Trump’s fortune had declined to $3.7 billion, down $800 million and he was ranked 156th.
Trump and his father, Fred, had appeared on the inaugural issue of the Forbes list of wealthiest people in 1982 where they shared a fortune valued at more than $200 million.
Although in 1990, Donald was knocked out of the ranks due to a lots of debts as a result of bad business deals.
Six years later, Trump returned to the list with a fortune of $450 million. But in 2017, his wealth has dropped drastically and although Trump is America’s first billionaire president, he’s not as rich as he used to be.
