When will all these drama end abeg? These are elderly people o. How then should the young behave? We heard that in a meeting organized by former President Goodluck Jonathan yesterday, in order to make peace reign amongst the leadership of the people’s Democratic Party, Senator Ali Modu Sheriff stormed out with his deputy, Cairo Ojougboh, insisting that for the meeting to progress, he must be recognized and addressed as chairman.
Governor Ayo Fayose of Ekiti state, Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers state, stakeholders, as well as the National Assembly caucus insisted that Senator Sheriff must step down to allow for a neutral person to lead the party, noting that, the solution to the crisis in the party can only be solved if Senator Sheriff vacates his position but Sheriff blatantly refused.
The meeting, according to former President Jonathan was designed to bring the members of the party together again. He announced the setting up of a committee to be chaired by either him, former Vice President Namadi Sambo or former President of the Senate, David Mark, to find a lasting solution to the problems of the party.
A lot of former governors, the Deputy President of the Senate, senators, and members of the National Assembly were present at the meeting.
We hope they resolve their issues.
