A boat crash in Northwest Nigeria has claimed the lives of six children on Wednesday.
According to the emergency management services, two boats collided which led to both boats capsizing.
One of the boats was a passenger boat while the other, carrying onions to a market in Yauri Kebbi state.
According to Vanguard, the head of Kebbi State emergency management agency said the bodies six children (Five boys and a girl) have been recovered.
He added that 60 passengers were rescued and 13 are being treated currently in a hospital as a result of several injuries.
On the cause of the collision, he said that the boats collided when they sailed in the dark without lights around.
