An Akwa Ibom lady, Idara Inokon emerged the winner of the Miss Nigeria USA 2017 Pageant.
The grand finale of the event held on the 12th of August, at the Schomburg Theater in New York.
According to the organiser of the annual beauty pageant, Joy Fakhoury, the new Miss Nigeria USA, who was the fourth to be crowned in the pageant, would cart home $10,000 in prizes.
Idara, who was crowned by the Queen emeritus, Lola Adeoye, beat 13 other contestants to emerge winner.
Ajimatanrareje, Ayoyemi who represented Ondo, emerged the First Runner-up, Adeyemi, Susan who represented Lagos, emerged the Second Runner-up, while Edosomwan, Lucy who represented Rivers, emerged Miss Congeniality.
Idara Inokon, who hails from Akwa Ibom State in Nigeria is a registered Cardiac ICU nurse in the U.S.
She graduated from the University of Maryland, College Park in 2010 with a Bachelor of Science and Psychology.
She also attended the Accelerated Nursing Programme at the University of Delaware and graduated in 2014, and currently a Masters Student in Family Nursing.

In her Vote of thanks, Idara said if she was told 8 months ago that she would be in the position that she is in now, she wouldn’t have believed it.
She went further to thank God and those who stood by her through it all.
