9mobile has announced the appointment of Phillips Oki as its new Chief Financial Officer (CFO).
The telecommunications company in a statement issued on Monday by the Acting Managing Director, Stephanie Beuvelet, disclosed that Oki has resumed duty.
According to Beuvelet, Oki emerged as the best person for the position after a meticulous search process.
According to his LinkedIn profile, Phillips Oki is a Financial Management professional with over fifteen years hands on experience in diverse industries including Audit of Manufacturing, Oil Service, and NGOs, Public Sector group and Telecommunication.
He also Pioneered the set-up of Visafone Communications Ltd with reference to business plan and budgeting, worked with KPM, Price Water Coopers, Pepsico international, Merchant Bank and worked in academia, as a lecturer at Babcock University.
Phillips, according to Beuvelet, is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria and has managed and delivered several projects for Nigeria’s Pension Transitional Arrangement Directorate (PTAD) as Deputy Director, as well as the Adam Smith International and Department for International Development (DIFD) in the United Kingdom.
“We are excited to have Oki with us. Finance is a huge part of any business, especially one like ours in a competitive telco space where it continues to be imperative to have operational costs within healthy bounds.
“We are confident that Oki will leverage his wealth of experience to inspire the finance team to deliver on their mandate,” Beuvelet said.
