Winter Olympics 2018: Free condoms being distributed

It’s the Winter 2018 Olympic season in PyeongChang, South Korea, and one significant activity to be noted is the distribution of free Olympic condoms.

Free condoms will be given out at different venues in the 2018 PyeongChang games as well as the Olympic village.

About 110,000 condoms have been given out to the athletes so far.

According to reports by Korea Biomedical Review, 100,000 condoms were donated by a local condom manufacturing company know as Barunsengkak while the other 10,000 were donated by the Korean Association for AIDS Prevention (KAAP).

Distribution of Condoms during Olympics games is no new thing. The free distribution started in the Summer 1988 Olympics which was held at Seoul, South Korea in a campaign to prevent the spread of HIV/AIDS.

In 2016, Summer Olympics held at Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, 450,000 free condoms were distributed.

Sex at the Olympics cannot be controlled as there are a lot of adults around the area during that period. A lot of people have attested to that fact.

There have also been reports of funding the used free condoms in different places at Olympics arena.

According to reports by Korea Biomedical Review, the condoms will be distributed in different places such as the Olympic village, media center, the stadiums, while some will also be placed in the bathrooms
