Yesterday, the Uyo Facebook community went wild because of speculations by unknown sources that the owner of the popular Eka Udo restaurant located in Uyo uses water used in bathing corpses to cook food for her customers.
Some people had hurriedly concluded that the rumours were true without confirming it.

“No need for formings, I visit #EkaUdo, a makeshift restaurant, whenever I’m in Uyo. I’ve met the lady there a couple of times.
She has good customer relationship unlike most restaurant owners in Uyo. Probably, this is her selling point.
Every city has its major ‘buka’, so why should Uyo be different? I see this rumour peddling as handiwork of her competitors. Please let’s encourage this lady and not pull her down. Be a pillar not a caterpillar.”

“EkaUdo now trending..so u people have forgotten the past years she was hardworking? If she is using juju, my dear it’s a nice and lovely juju. I recommend it for this country.”
Some customers said her story is that of sheer hard work, commitment and consistency.
Meanwhile, most of her customers who doubted the veracity of the rumours took the pains of going to find out how it all started and the truth behind the matter.
I Just left Ekaudo now. She’s been ill for a while and neighbours say same.
Mfonobong Ukpong said, “When I arrived, I met two of her staff, a boy and a girl who were seen cleaning the place. They told me that they had closed for the year, and that the restaurant will reopen on Monday 9th of January, 2017.
They dismissed the confession rumour peddled in some quarters against their mistress as lies. The staff said “We have not heard such. That is not true. We have closed for the year. We went on break on the evening 23rd of December after selling. We are resuming on the 9th of January next year, 2017.”
Some people still say there’s an iota of truth in the matter.
