Barack Obama‘s response to the violence in Charlottesville is now one of the most popular tweets ever.

Barack Obama made a tweet condemning racism in the aftermath of a far-right rally in Charlottesville, Virginia.

The tweet has become the most liked tweet ever, with more than 2.8 million social media users so far endorsing the sentiment.

In the tweet, former POTUS Barack Obama quoted the late South African president Nelson Mandela, “No one is born hating another person because of the colour of his skin or his background or his religion.”
