Lagos, Nigeria – TP-Collective is delighted to announce the second edition of its annual art fair, ART X Lagos.

From Friday 3rd November to Sunday 5th November 2017, The Civic Centre in Victoria Island, Lagos, will host some of Africa’s most sought-after and emerging artists, from countries as diverse as South Africa, Ghana, Ivory Coast and many more.

Launched in 2016, ART X Lagos is West Africa’s first international art fair which was designed to showcase the best and most innovative contemporary art from the African continent and diaspora, and to widen Nigeria’s connection to the art scene across Africa and internationally.

Through its contribution to the increased visibility of African artists, ART X Lagos aims to reinforce the visual arts as an important component of the creative industry in Nigeria and Africa, and to position Lagos as an emergent cultural capital on the continent.

The maiden edition of ART X Lagos last year saw 65 artists from 10 countries in Africa present works of art across various mediums including painting, sculpture, illustration and photography.

Over the course of three days, more than 5,000 guests including art lovers, art enthusiasts, private collectors and international observers came through the Civic Centre to see the best art from around the African continent.

A Special performance show tagged ART X Live! was a live installation that combined music with visual art, while the art fair also featured a dynamic talks program with over 30 local and international speakers.

In just 4 months, ART X Lagos will return to entertain avast and varied local and international audience as it seeks to reinforce Lagos’ position as an emergent cultural capital on our continent.
