The Nigerian Army yesterday handed over the newly rescued Chibok girl, Rakiya Abubakar and her ten months old son, Abdullahi, to
Borno State Governor, Kashim Shettima.

It was discovered she is the daughter of Abubakar Gali Mulima and Habiba Abubakar of Chibok.

In a statement by army spokesman Sani Usman, Rakiya Abubakar was one of over 200 schoolgirls abducted from the northeast Nigerian town of Chibok in April 2014.

He said soldiers had “during investigation of arrested suspected Boko Haram terrorists discovered… Rakiya Abubakar, with her ten-month-old baby.”
