In her Vote of thanks, Idara said,
“If you told me 8 months ago that I would be in the position that I am in now, I wouldn’t believe you.
Ten years ago I competed in my first pageant as a freshman at the University of Maryland College Park. Now being crowned as your Miss Nigeria USA, has made the journey well worth it.
Preparing for the Miss Nigeria USA pageant pushed me beyond my comfort zone in many ways. I am grateful to God for all of the lessons learned up to this point. I am more than ready to embark on this opportunity of a lifetime.
When I say that I have been overwhelmed with love and support from my community, I mean it whole-heartedly.
From the donations, to the messages, to those who lent their resources throughout my preparation…I can not thank everyone enough!!
To this year’s contestants, thank you for being warm, comical and making this week memorable. I pray that we can continue building our sisterhood and making lasting memories together as we serve our communities.
Thank you to Joy (@miss.joi), Bola (@naijaqueenb) and the MNUSA team for creating a platform for us to share our beauty, passion, talent and intellect with the world.
A special thank you to @eyestandout for photography, to Tina Torres (@shopzulle) and @_samiraiman_ for their wardrobe advice, and to @shal_shock and Ima Usoroh for their assistance with my traditional presentation.”
It’s going to be an incredible year!
