The year just keeps getting amazing for Adele.
After completing her successful world tour and winning the Grammy for album of the year for 25, this week, Adele’s album “21,” which was released in 2011, has registered more weeks on the Billboard 200 chart than any other album by a female artist.
Adele’s album surpassed Carole King’s 1971 “Tapestry”, for time spent on the Billboard 200 by a woman. King’s album spent a nonconsecutive 318 weeks while Adele’s just completed its 319th week on the chart.
Billboard noted that Adele’s album has appeared on the chart every week since its debut while Carole’s dipped out of the ranking in 1977 after 302 weeks, and reappeared in 2010.
