Michelle Rodriguez, who acts as Letty Ortiz, in the fast and furious series recently took to Instagram to promote the digital premiere of Fate of the Furious and expressed that she might have to say goodbye to Fast & Furious 9 if they don’t show love to women and continue limiting their roles.
In her words, “I hope they decide to show some love to the women of the franchise on the next one. Or I just might have to say goodbye to a loved franchise.”
Although the previous series had really strong roles for some of the characters, Letty didn’t have much to do in the Fate of the Furious.
When Interviewed for Entertainment weekly, she said “I’ve been making movies with Jordana, who plays the sister of Dom Toretto, for 16 years and I can count on one hand how many lines I’ve had to her… I think that’s pathetic and it’s lack of creativity.
We hope they sort this out as soon as possible. Meanwhile, according to Universal pictures, Fast & Furious 9 is scheduled to hit the big screen in 2019.
